MEDMI’s Discipleship Training School (DTS) is designed to equip believers with a strong biblical foundation, practical ministry skills, and a deep, personal relationship with God. The program focuses on transforming faith from knowledge alone into a lived experience that shapes character, leadership, and service. It is built for individuals who want to grow spiritually, understand the Word of God more deeply, and actively participate in sharing the gospel in their communities and beyond.
At the heart of DTS is intensive Bible study. Participants are guided through structured teaching that helps them understand Scripture in context and apply it to everyday life. The Bible emphasizes the importance of studying and living according to God’s Word: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). Through consistent study, learners develop clarity, spiritual maturity, and discernment, allowing them to stand firm in their faith even in challenging times.
A key focus of the program is spiritual formation. DTS encourages believers to build a strong prayer life and develop intimacy with God. Prayer is not only taught as a discipline but as a lifestyle of communication with God. As written in 1 Thessalonians 5:17, “Pray without ceasing.” Students are taught how to cultivate a consistent prayer life that strengthens their faith, brings guidance, and builds spiritual resilience.
Leadership development is another core element of the Discipleship Training School. Participants are trained to become servant leaders who lead with humility, integrity, and compassion. Jesus set the ultimate example of servant leadership when He said, “Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant” (Matthew 20:26). Through teaching and practical exercises, students learn how to lead others not through authority alone, but through service, love, and responsibility.
DTS also places strong emphasis on evangelism and mission work. Students are encouraged to step outside the classroom and engage in real-life ministry experiences. This may include outreach programs, community service, preaching, and sharing the gospel with those who have not yet heard it. Jesus commanded His followers in Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” These hands-on experiences help students grow confidence in their faith and understand the importance of spreading the message of Christ.
In addition to spiritual growth, the program focuses on character development. Participants are guided to reflect on their personal lives, remove unhealthy habits, and develop Christ-like values such as love, patience, humility, and forgiveness. Galatians 5:22–23 highlights these qualities: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” DTS encourages believers to live out these values daily, both inside and outside the church environment.
Community is also an important part of the Discipleship Training School. Students learn alongside others who share the same faith journey, building strong relationships, accountability, and mutual encouragement. Hebrews 10:24–25 reminds believers, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another.” This sense of fellowship helps students grow stronger together in their walk with God.
Ultimately, MEDMI’s DTS is more than a training program—it is a transformational journey. It prepares believers not only to understand their faith but to live it boldly and purposefully. By combining Scripture, leadership training, practical ministry, and spiritual development, DTS equips individuals to become effective disciples who can impact the world for Christ and carry the message of the gospel wherever they go.
